Day 3 – Kingdom Mandate

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. Genesis 1:28

When God created man, He gave him a five-point mandate: be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, subdue it, and have dominion. That was God’s original intention for man, but unfortunately, Adam fell short of it when he disobeyed God thereby losing his authority to rule and his connection with heaven.

The core reason why Jesus came to this earth was to restore man to his lost glory and to renew that lost mandate. Jesus restored man’s glory by going to the cross to pay for man’s sin with the ultimate price of death. When He rose from the dead, He gave His disciples a fresh mandate, which was only but a restoration of the original mandate that Adam lost:

And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matthew 28:18-20

The words of that passage are what we call The Great Commission. It is a restoration of our kingdom mandate. In summary, it says that we are called to advance the kingdom of God. This, we are to do by going to the nations and teaching them to observe the things that God has commanded us. In other words, we are charged with colonising the earth with heaven and extending the government and culture of heaven throughout the earth. That is the mandate that you and I have from the Lord. How well are you doing with your kingdom mandate?

PRAYER: Dear Lord, give me the grace to fulfill the mandate you have given me. Your purpose for my life is all I seek to pursue. In Jesus name I pray, Amen.

NOTE: Everyone connected with the kingdom mandate take their life very seriously. In this season, I encourage you to give attention to how you are living your life. Life it to the glory of God.
