Day 6 – Kingdom Investments

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. Matthew 6:19-20

To function in the realm of more than enough, you need to apply certain financial disciplines conscientiously. One of such disciplines is the discipline of saving and investing your resources wisely. There is no wiser place to invest your resources than in the kingdom of God. Today’s text shows us that unlike earthly investment platforms that are susceptible to robbery and decay, investments made in the kingdom of God can neither be destroyed by moth and rust, nor carted away by thieves.

There are various forms of investments in the kingdom of God. Typical examples include tithes and offerings (Malachi 3:10-13), vows (Psalm 50:5), giving to men of God (Matthew 10:41), giving to the poor (Proverbs 19:17) and sacrificial giving of all sorts (Mark 10:29-30). The objective of these investments is to advance the frontiers of God’s kingdom agenda on earth. Any investment in God’s kingdom rightly done, will always yield high rewards here and beyond.

Are you an active investor in the kingdom of God? You should be. It pays!

PRAYER: Give me the grace dear Lord to actively invest in your kingdom and not merely in material things that profit only the flesh. In Jesus name I pray, amen.

NOTE: The more you give, the more comes back to you, because God is the greatest giver in the universe, and He won’t let you out give Him. Go ahead and try. See what happens. Randy Alcorn
