DAY TWELVE | THE CONSUMING FIRE

“For our God is a consuming fire.”
Hebrews 12:29

Does God truly consume by fire? How will a loving and merciful God still destroy those He loves? Could it be that the words “God is a consuming and fire” have other deeper meanings? Well, there is nothing deeper than saying God is truly a consuming fire.

Fire goes before the Lord and consumes His enemies (Psalms 97:3). An enemy of God is whoever exalts other things above God in their heart. Our God is a jealous God and he will never share His glory with people not to talk of mere objects. You must desist from object worship or adornment of material things. God hates it.

More so, the fire of the Lord consumes anything unholy. For instance, Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, offered strange fire in the temple and fire came out of God’s presence and consumed them (Leviticus 10:1-2). A strange fire is standing before the Lord to minister while you still live in sin. There is nothing unholy that should stand before God.

As a minister of God, you must understand that you cannot continue in sin and remain relevant in the kingdom. Stay clear of any form of atrocities that would make God’s holy anger burn against you.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Father Lord, let your fire consume anything that is not of God in my life.
2. Heavenly Father, let my service to you and your kingdom on earth be out of a pure heart.
3. I declare that I work in righteousness all the days of my life.
