DAY SEVEN | REKINDLING THE SPIRIT’S FIRE

by Nov 2, 202130 Days of Fresh Fire0 comments

“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”
2 Timothy 1:6

Have you lost the burning passion you once had for God and His word? Does it feel like the things you once hated are becoming your desires? Have you lost your love for God to carnal cravings? Assuredly, you will get them all back today.

The gift which Jesus left with us when He was leaving the earth was the Holy Spirit. He has been freely given to us to help us love God more, serve Him better and fulfil all of God’s commands. But, it is not just enough to receive this precious gift. What you do with it afterwards truly matters. The message of salvation that brought you to God needs sustenance, which can only be achieved when you rekindle the Spirit’s fire.
However, the story is different for many believers after the first salvation experience. The love they once had for God begins to subside. In them, the Holy Ghost becomes dormant (He is a gentle Spirit and will never force Himself to work until you make moves) and hence, the need to rekindle the Spirit’s fire.

There is a spark of fire in you at salvation. This fire needs to be fan to flame consistently through prayers and meditation on God’s word. A prayerless believer will soon burn out because there is nothing to fan the fire of God’s love. Prayers charge your spirit man to know the deep thing of God and how to align with it.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Father Lord, rekindle your fire in me.
2. Henceforth, I decree and declare that God’s word will continually be on my lips.
3. Father Lord, help me to commit more time to prayers and study of God’s word.
