Day 4 – Kingdom Builders

And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come. Mark 4:26-29

The main truth I see in today’s text is that there is a scope for God’s kingdom to grow and there is a role that you and I should play in ensuring that growth—that more people come to experience God’s life and salvation as subjects of His kingdom.

Even as God is in sovereign control of His kingdom as king, we all still have a role to play in contributing towards the scope of God’s rule. We can tell others about the King, we can tell others about His rule.

Take note that God is not calling us to build denominations (although denominations can be channels through which God’s purpose is fulfilled). He is not calling us to build personal empires either. We are called to demonstrate, experience, and proclaim God’s kingdom through our lives, our actions, and our evangelism. We are called to cast the seed of God’s kingdom into the ground of people’s hearts, wait patiently for the seed to grow, and then when it is grown, put in the sickle to harvest it. We are called to win and disciple souls to establish them in the local church.

PRAYER: Help me Lord to be a kingdom builder. Let me not shy away from kingdom building, in Jesus name. Amen.

SEED CHALLENGE: Prepare a special financial seed for end of fasting thanking and sacrifice to our God.
