And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

If you are a citizen of the kingdom of God, you should have a kingdom mindset. What is a kingdom mindset? It is a fixed mental attitude or disposition governed by God’s perspective, will, purposes, plans and desires that predetermine or decide in advance a person’s response to and interpretation of situations.

Think about it for a moment: How can you even begin to be an effective co-worker with God in carrying out his Kingdom agenda if you do not think like Him. Proverbs 23:7 tells us that as a man thinks, so is he. That means that our thoughts precede our behaviour. So if we are not for God and the things of God in our minds, if we are not submitted to Him in our minds, if we are not embracing the reality of His kingdom and our heavenly citizenship in our minds, if we are not desirous of knowing and doing His will in our minds, if we are not yielded to His lordship in our minds, then we cannot be effective in partnering with Him as His kingdom representatives.

This is why Paul urged the brethren in Romans to be transformed by the renewing of their minds. How does one renew his mind? By studying the word, praying, drawing near to God, hungering and thirsting after righteousness, and looking unto Jesus.

God did not save you to have the mindset of the world. He wants you to have a kingdom mindset!

NEVER: Do not give your mind to anything that is not kingdom oriented.
